Pumpkin patches are a fun activity in the fall. Picking your own pumpkin at a pumpkin patch, no matter your age, gets you in the fall spirit. If the pumpkin patch is a charity, that fall spirit can be doubled.
Visiting a pumpkin patch is a visual treat. The rows and rows of orange orbs is a delight for any eyes. It is a lot more fun to buy your pumpkins at a pumpkin patch and not in a pile at the grocery store.
Don’t get me wrong, I have bought pumpkins from grocery stores, garden centers, stores like Target, as well as nurseries. (I like pumpkins!) And the result is the same–you get to bring home a delightful fall ornament. But the feeling you get walking around looking for the perfect pumpkin, or two (or more!) can’t be found at a grocery store.
Here are some reasons to venture out to a pumpkin patch instead.
Picture perfect
These orange rows make a great background for a picture. No matter your age, pumpkin pictures are wonderful. Taking pictures for Instagram, taking pictures of your pup, or getting the perfect picture of your children, pumpkin patch pictures are perfection. (try saying that three times fast!)
I have pictures of my children in a pumpkin patch and I still cherish them.

It’s a sea of orange!
