I have asked for it, and the pleas have been answered-we have fall weather. I am talking sweats, sweaters and jackets.
It is 46 degrees, in Waco, but feels like 42. The low tonight is 35 degrees.
Brrr…
Tomorrow is about the same.
This shows me, patience is needed when it comes to weather. But I already knew that. Texas is like a stubborn child. In its own time.
“Just be patient and the weather will change.” I have heard that saying my entire life. And its true.
Monday, the high in Waco is 80, so there ya go.
Here’s the problem with the weather rollercoaster–plants.
I had to cover some of my plants on the patio in tonight. The rest I brought in. It took me over an hour to make sure all, at least most, would have protection.

Many memories are swirling around in my mind tonight of times like today. I remember many fall afternoons, hurrying, and freezing, bringing my plants in because of fall weather. And a predicted freeze. It always seemed to happen when my husband was out-of-town so I would get all three kids to help me.
I can still see us running around covering my plants or bringing them under our covered patio. All while the freezing wind blew profusely. Fall weather somehow always surprised us.
I love memories. Even cold ones.

This year, we are getting a greenhouse. I ordered it this week, but obviously, should have ordered it and put it together before tonight. Before the freeze warning, before the fall weather came to Waco. I hope my plants survive so they can be warm this winter in their new home.
I hope for you a chilly evening so that you can cuddle up with someone you love. And, I hope your plants have a warm home tonight, as well.
love and blessings~dd
*Day Twenty-Seven of my #write31days and I am tired. (Twenty-Seven blog posts in a row!) I helped my daughter move into her new apartment downtown today. Although she had movers, we were still up and down stairs all day and that wears this girl (and this ACL) out! So, this post is short and well, short. Thanks for reading! Stay tuned, tomorrow’s post will be better and yesterday’s was as well!
