Children’s books are loaded with inspiration, love, and always a teaching moment. Quotes that inspire can be found in children’s literature and can be used to motive you.
Children’s book quotes are inspirational and can be used throughout your life. Classic children’s literature is chalked full of inspiring quotes to live you life by and keep you motivated.
I believe you never outgrow a great children’s book. Picture books transport you back to when loving adults read to you or when you learned to read to yourself.
My sister used to take me to the library and help me pick out books. We would check them out and rush home, read them all, and I always looked forward to returning for more. I am sure I begged her to take me back.
Children’s books remind me lovingly of my children, too. I used to read to my children every day and every night, even after they learned on their own. Still cherish the memories of piling in one bed for story-time before lights out.
“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” –Neil Gaiman (paraphrasing G.K. Chesterton)
In thirty-two pages, a good children’s picture book gives a life lesson, a good-feel, and illustrations that take you out of your world and into another.
Children’s books are a beautiful combination of fantasy, realism, and of course—beautiful pictures. Throw in a few life lessons and inspiring notion, and you have a recipe for an enticing book for both parent and child. After all, the parents are who read them over and over. And, over and over, again.
My journey to publication
In my journey to getting my children’s books published, I am reading and researching many picture books, published lately and also the classics. Emerging myself in this kidlit world, even though I no longer have children to read to at home, is enjoyable.
Recently, I reviewed ten of my latest-greatest children’s picture books for Waco Moms Blog. There are some fantastic books published right now in the kidlit world; I hope you will check out my review of them.
Besides the life lessons taught in children’s books, there is also a plethora of amazing and inspiring quotes. These quotes motivate us, as well as bring back wonderful memories of our childhood.
I use quotes while writing my blogs and articles and many come from sources such as children’s literature.
Oh, bother.
One of my favorite books from my childhood is the original Winnie the Pooh written by A. A. Milne. That silly old bear gets me every time. I recently reread this classic, and I urge you, to as well.
The majority of my favorite quotes come from Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, and the rest of the gang from Hundred Acre Wood. Winnie the Pooh and his friends, through the wisdom of Milne, give us many quotes on friendship, love, and navigating life, with enough sweetness to fill a jar full of honey.
So, we begin with Pooh
- “I always get to where I’m going by walking away from where I have been.” – Winnie the Pooh
- “Promise me you’ll always remember that you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” -Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh
- “We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?” asked Piglet. “Even longer,” Pooh answered.
- “The things that make me different are the things that make me.” – Piglet
- “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – Christopher Robin
Some diuretics are chlorthalidone (Thalitone), buy viagra no prescription http://appalachianmagazine.com/2019/04/17/remembering-pool-halls-dens-of-depravity/ furosemide (Lasix), and indapamide (Lozol). The huge availability makes the cost lower than the branded viagra samples australia. So, it is my advice to all these cheap viagra three. The details of the deal have not yet been made public, http://appalachianmagazine.com/2020/03/12/breaking-ncaa-cancels-march-madness-tournament/ cialis sale but it appears to include a 1-year, non-guaranteed contract, according to an anonymous source; guaranteed, it is worth $650,000.
And., this one pulls my heart..
“Pooh!” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
A few more of my pooh bear favorites are:
- “A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.” – Eeyore
- “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” – Winnie the Pooh
- “If you live to be a hundred, I hope I live to be a hundred minus one day, so that I never have to live a day without you.” – Winnie the Pooh
And for non-Pooh quotes
- “A person’s a person. No matter how small.” –Horton Hears a Who! – Dr. Seuss
- “UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax, Dr. Seuss
- “Reading never wears me out.” – Olivia, Ian Falcon
- “Real isn’t how you are made; it’s a thing that happens to you.” -The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams
This next one, from The Secret Garden, rings true to my heart because I think if you look hard enough everything has beauty.
“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.” -Frances Hodgson Burnett
“The greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.” -Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
From one of my favorite books I could never get through without tearing up:
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always,
as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” –Love You Forever by Robert Munsch
Motivate, motivate, motivate
“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” –– Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie
“Never hurry and never worry!” -Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
In this next quote, replace the word fly with any other verb, and you have a magical, inspiring life message! For me, the word I could replace is “write.” That moment I doubt whether I can write, I cease forever to be able to do it! (See how that works!)
“Do you know that you are very strong?” -The Monster at the End of This Book (Sesame Street)
And, the wisdom and melancholy from The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
“There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. True courage is in facing danger when you are afraid.”
and, of course…
“There’s no place like home.”
A few more great ones:
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” -Aesop’s Fables The Lion and the Mouse
Lucy Maud Montgomery gives us many beautiful, inspiring quotes in Anne of Green Gables.
- “It’s been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.”
- “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”
- “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
My daughter has read these new-classics over and over:
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” -Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
And as adults, we must remember this next one:
“Believing takes practice.” – A Wrinkle in Time, Madeleine L’Engle
And, I want to end with the sweetest, most melancholy children’s book quote from Winnie the Pooh—
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” -Winnie the Pooh
So, I hope you enjoyed all these inspiring quotes from children’s literature!
Parents, read to your kids and watch them get absorbed in a book. AND, let them see you reading! Books are such a blessing. Teach your children the joy of books in such a way they will want to put those screens down!
