Probably my favorite pumpkin of all, doesn’t have a stem, isn’t grown in the ground and doesn’t end up a jack-o-lantern. It is however, round, orange and white and is a fall treat. My favorite type of pumpkin is a cupcake. Pumpkin cupcakes.
Jim Davis wrote a well know quote about pumpkins, “Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread and pumpkin pie.” Well Mr. Davis, I prefer pumpkin cupcakes.
This blog post promises to be short and sweet. Real sweet.

Today, my parents came for a visit and we ventured downtown to meet my kids and my husband for lunch.
It was a nice fall day, (not really, it was 85 degrees out!), so we walked from my husband’s office to a new restaurant in Waco called Hecho en Waco. The food was great, the company was better and we enjoyed lunch with my parents. I love having all three children together and having parents present takes it over the top!
However, the star of today’s writing is what came afterwards.
Side note** Magnolia had pumpkins everywhere and if you know me at all, you know I took a lot of pictures so, that will be another post!
After lunch, we then walked to Magnolia Market at the Silos for dessert. A short line in the blazing fall heat and we were inside. The bakery is adorable and I highly suggest a visit, if not for the cupcakes, just to take a peak inside. Decorated in black and white with all the JoJo magic, it is something to see.
And the smells.
It is a beautiful fragrance that speaks to me and causes one to drool. (Causes ME to drool. Ok, not really.)
Let’s get right to the next sense, the most important one in this story–taste. I like a pumpkin cupcake. I like pumpkin-pretty-much-everything except–get ready for it–I don’t really care for pumpkin spiced lattes. (I know!) Sorry, but I like my pumpkins baked. I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin everything that is baked–but the queen in of all pumpkin baked goods is the pumpkin cupcake.

Yep, they are good. JoJo knows how to make a pumpkin cupcake.
They are as white as they are orange. In other words, the icing is almost as tall as the cake.
To make a short story short, we had a lovely day. Any day spent with my parents is a lovely day. My mom and Dad are married 55 years, they are still in love and I love them. Sweet story, huh?
As promised, short and sweet.
I hope for you parental visits and lots of sweetness.
love and blessings~dd
